Getting Ready!

Getting Ready!

In the spring of 2021, Survival Korean: Language and Culture Online was just an idea. It was simple to say that we could offer basic Korean language and culture classes online, as well as being confident that we could do so better than the myriad of other resources out there. That was the easy part.

Since then, we have been working on Survival Korean as a side project (nights, weekends) outside of our day jobs with the goal of being fully operational by summer 2022. However, our standards are high and we have dedicated more time than we anticipated to developing the courses that we have ready. Nevertheless, we did not want to wait another year while we worked on developing the rest of our initial courses with about 1/3 of courses finished and collecting digital dust. Thus, we shifted our goal from having a large grand opening to a more modest "soft opening". After all, we are only a team of two people that work full time in education as educators and administrators!

While we do not have a set opening date in mind, we have finished up some of the back end work (e.g., payment processing) and need to finalize some other important stuff (i.e., business licensing) before we can legally/officially operate. These small steps have gotten us closer to offering Survival Korean to the world, and our goal is to do so around July/August of 2022.

This initial soft opening will include 7 courses (which you can read about and preview on our Courses page). You can even preview the Course Design that has developed over the last year to get a sense of just what we have been working on! We think it will resonate with the millions of beginner Korean learners all over the world, and that it will both inspire and motivate you to study and learn Korean with us as we continue to develop our current roadmap of courses, and develop new ones for the life-long learners among you smile.

Until then, if you have any questions, do not hestitate to get in touch using our Contact Form or simply by email: info@survivalkorean.online.

Sincerely,

Lia and Liam
